Research Sites

"Nothing has such power to broaden the mind as the ability to investigate systematically and truly all that comes under thy observation in life."

Solar Energy Research Sites

There are currently a number of potential solar sites at which the solar energy research can occur. The City of Las Vegas has offered 30 different solar sites where a variety of experiments on dust/dust chemistry/washing of panels may be conducted. In addition, Sempra Generation has offered the use of its sites for panel cleaning and dust studies as well. Finally, many of the experiments will take place at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on the roof of the Thomas Beam Engineering Building or the "Solar Energy Site" on campus.

Environment Monitoring Sites

Three new climate monitoring stations have been setup in the Eldorado Valley, in partnership with Clark County and Sempra Energy. These Internet-connected sites are designed to observe the conditions of the surrounding area through sensor readings and web cameras. Below is a picture of the sites at the Eldorado Valley Sempra Generation Solar plant outside of Boulder City, NV. The markers on the map are the locations at of the climate monitoring sites.
